COLUMBIA, S.C., September 20, 2025 (BUSINESS WATCH GLOBAL) — Nuclear energy company The Nuclear Company, specializing in fleet-scale nuclear power deployment, has appointed Hernando A. Madroñero as Head of Nuclear Deployment, Project Executive. Madroñero will oversee construction of its first fleet of reactors.
Madroñero brings more than 30 years of experience in power generation, most recently serving as design and construction engineering director for Vogtle units 3 and 4, the only nuclear reactors started and built in the United States in more than three decades. His prior experience includes senior roles at General Electric, GE-Hitachi Nuclear, GE Renewable Energy, and Exelon Corporation. He began his career as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to Madroñero’s appointment, Vogtle veterans Glen Chick and George Koucheravy have joined the company from retirement. Chick, named Vice President of Project Strategy and Support, brings more than 45 years of experience in nuclear plant construction and operations, including leadership roles at Southern Nuclear and Exelon.

Koucheravy has been appointed Vice President of Procurement and Supply Chain. He has more than five decades of experience in the nuclear sector, with leadership roles at Southern Nuclear and Westinghouse Electric Company. His career also included more than 30 years of service in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a captain.
The Nuclear Company is working with Palantir Technologies to co-develop and deploy NOS, an AI-driven software system designed to modernize nuclear construction by creating a data-driven process aimed at reducing costs and improving project timelines.
The Nuclear Company develops nuclear power projects in the United States with an emphasis on modernized construction and large-scale deployment. Its strategy combines licensed reactor technologies with digital systems and a “design-once, build-many” approach intended to lower costs and shorten project timelines.
