ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 24, 2026 (BUSINESS WATCH GLOBAL) — Cybersecurity company Token, a provider of biometric identity assurance solutions for enterprises, has appointed Torrell Funderburk to its Industry Advisory Board.
Funderburk has served in enterprise security leadership roles at Fortune 500 packaging company Sealed Air and Maestro Health, an AXA subsidiary. He currently serves as founder and CEO of cyber resilience company Overspace.
Token's Industry Advisory Board includes chief information security officers (CISOs), senior cybersecurity executives, and government security leaders who advise the company on enterprise identity security and emerging cyber threats.
According to Token, Funderburk's appointment comes as organizations increasingly address credential theft, phishing, AI-enabled social engineering attacks, and the growing need for stronger identity verification as artificial intelligence agents take on more operational responsibilities.
The company’s biometric identity assurance platform is designed to authenticate individuals through biometric verification secured by cryptographic hardware. Token's products integrate with existing identity and access management infrastructure to support workforce authentication and approval workflows.
“The CISOs and security leaders on our Industry Advisory Board live with the consequences of identity failure every day, and that perspective is exactly what shapes where we take this technology. Torrell has built and defended security programs at Fortune 500 scale, across some of the most demanding regulatory environments there are. As the question shifts from ‘who logged in’ to ‘who approved this action – a human or an agent,’ his judgment is exactly the kind we want guiding us,” said Kevin Surace, CEO of Token.
Funderburk's background includes industrial automation software engineering, cyber architecture, and enterprise security leadership across the manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services industries. He has also spoken at RSA Conference and CES, serves on the AI Advisory Board at Furman University, and has written for CSO Online.
Token provides biometric-assured identity solutions for enterprises designed to help prevent credential theft, phishing, social engineering, and account takeover. Founded in 2014, the company develops passwordless authentication technology that combines biometric fingerprint verification, secure hardware, and FIDO2/WebAuthn authentication to strengthen workforce security.
