NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., September 8, 2025 (BUSINESS WATCH GLOBAL) — Healthcare company Johnson & Johnson has elected John Morikis, retired chairman, president, and chief executive officer of The Sherwin-Williams Company, to its board of directors.

Morikis spent four decades with Sherwin-Williams after joining the company in 1984 as a management trainee. He advanced through several leadership roles, including division president and group president, before serving as president and chief operating officer from 2006 to 2016. He was then appointed CEO, a position he held for eight years.
During his tenure, Morikis oversaw strategic initiatives that expanded Sherwin-Williams’ global presence to 123 countries, optimized supply chain operations, and advanced the company’s technology investments. His leadership contributed to the company’s inclusion in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Morikis currently serves on the boards of United Parcel Service, Inc., General Mills, Inc., and Whirlpool Corporation, and is chairman of the board of directors for University Hospitals Health System, Inc. He holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and psychology from Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, and a master’s degree in business from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois.
